So so sorry for your loss. Jesus came for my Mom on 2019 and I haven’t been the same since. I wish I could write!

First off, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your description of writing and your relationship with it is quite beautiful. And I find it fascinating how writing begets more writing, and stopping makes it really hard to start again

Hello Noha,

Thank you for your kind words. Writing is one of the hardest thing I find. Even during the process it never feels easy, yet it always feels rewarding and freeing once you get to formulare what you want to say the way you want. And you're right, writing begets writing.

I was so worried when I started on Substack about how I would keep up with the writing. Based on my "normal" pace. What ended up happening is that when I immersed myself in a writing environment and writing community, I was more inspired to write. While it's always been very hard for me too, it's less hard now than it has been in a LONG time.

Substack is a good place to get inspired to write indeed. When I think of the blogging era, there were many blogs, but the focus was necessarily put on writing - in my case I had a culture and fashion blog - but rather on the images. Here, I feel a huge difference because people coming as writers or subscribers are really here for the written words. Those two aspects really fuel my will to write at the moment, so I think I understand you!
